Elder Guidance was built on a foundation of personal experience, professional expertise, and an unwavering commitment to helping families navigate one of life’s most emotional decisions with grace and confidence.
Anne-Marie Schmid is a Colorado native, a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, and the heart behind Elder Guidance, LLC, a free senior living placement service serving families across the region.
Her relationship with elder care began in childhood, accompanying her father (a family physician) on rounds at nursing homes, where she developed a deep respect for the wisdom and dignity of older adults. That early exposure shaped a lifelong calling.
Anne-Marie began her hands-on career in senior care as a nurse’s aide in skilled nursing during high school, then spent seven years following college working with seniors in the mental health field. She went on to serve as a National Sales Director in the hospitality industry for 16 years, a role that honed her ability to listen deeply, advocate for clients, and provide exceptional service.
A pivotal moment came when Anne-Marie faced the challenges of her own grandmother’s dementia and her father’s end-of-life illness. These deeply personal experiences illuminated the critical need for a trustworthy, knowledgeable resource to help families navigate the complex landscape of senior care. She transitioned to working as a Community Sales Director at an Assisted Living community in Los Angeles, and ultimately founded Elder Guidance to fill that gap.
Anne-Marie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Avila University, Kansas City, MO, and has volunteered as a bedside companion with hospice organizations for many years. She is a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
Her mission is simple: help every family find the right place for their loved one with honesty, empathy, and unmatched experience.

Elder Guidance was born from something deeply personal.
When Anne-Marie faced the challenge of finding the right care for a loved one, she quickly realized how overwhelming and uncertain the journey could be. What should have been a thoughtful, supported decision instead felt rushed, confusing, and isolating. Like so many families, she was left navigating a complex system without clear guidance, trying to make the right choice while carrying the weight of love, responsibility, and urgency.
She knew there had to be a better way.
Elder Guidance was created to ensure that no family has to go through this process alone. It was built on the belief that choosing care for someone you love should never feel like guesswork or pressure. It should feel informed, supported, and right.
Today, Elder Guidance stands as a trusted partner for families during one of life’s most important decisions. As a completely free resource, it offers personalized, professional guidance tailored to each family’s unique needs, bringing clarity where there is confusion, calm where there is stress, and confidence where there is doubt.
Because at the heart of it all, this isn’t just about finding a place. It’s about finding the right place, where your loved one feels safe, respected, and truly at home.
No two seniors are alike. We take the time to understand each individual’s needs, preferences, and circumstances before making any recommendation.
